On the basis of the above general consideration of computer architecture, some typical architectures of distributed computer control systems will be analyzed by method of partitioning. When a distributed computer control system is considered in different partitions, it may appear to have various classes of configurations, each of which corresponds to the case of realization of a specific form of parallelism in its architecture.

The complexity of this subsystem and it's importance make it a key factor in the design and implementation of such systems. The major considerations surrounding the communications link are: o maximum allowable distance between connected devices Distributed Digital Control o environmental requirements of transmission line o susceptibility to transients and electrical noise o error detection/correction and error recovery techniques o data transfer security o signalling rate (bandwidth) and link loading o redundancy and failure effects o cable routing of redundant data links o communications protocols and bus mastership o type of information transferred between system devices There is one other consideration which is worthy of further elaboration.
